Saudi company TABsense has achieved a new global milestone after winning the 2026 WITSA Global AI Award in the AI Entrepreneurship category, following an international evaluation process that included nominations from more than 80 countries.
This latest Saudi achievement reflects the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s growing leadership in artificial intelligence, particularly at a time when the restaurant and café sector is rapidly embracing AI technologies and exploring new ways to integrate them into day-to-day operations.

What is the WITSA Global AI Award?
The WITSA Global AI Award is an international recognition presented by the World Innovation, Technology and Services Alliance (WITSA) to companies and initiatives advancing the field of artificial intelligence.
The 2026 edition attracted nominations from more than 80 countries and included a dedicated AI Entrepreneurshipcategory — the category in which TABsense was named the winner.
A New Concept Developed by TABsense for the Restaurant Industry
Saudi-based TABsense has developed AI agents specifically for the restaurant and food & beverage industry under a new concept it calls “Point of Intelligence.”
The concept is designed to embed intelligence directly into restaurants’ daily operations, enabling data to be analyzed and acted upon in real time rather than simply recording transactions and presenting results after the fact.
Key applications of these technologies include:
- Detecting fraudulent activity and reducing revenue leakage.
- Predicting inventory requirements before products run out.
- Delivering real-time upselling recommendations.
- Generating operational reports for restaurant owners and franchise networks.
According to TABsense data, its upselling recommendations have helped increase average basket value by more than 7%.
What Does “Point of Intelligence” Mean?
“Point of Intelligence” is the concept introduced by TABsense to describe a layer of AI agents embedded within restaurants’ day-to-day operations.
The fundamental difference between a Point of Intelligence and a traditional Point of Sale (POS) lies in how each system interacts with operational data.
While a traditional POS records transactions and presents the results after they occur, Point of Intelligence AI agents analyze data as operations unfold, respond in real time, and take immediate action rather than simply generating a report afterward.
